where to find the best hopia in manila

in an old street formerly known as echague (now palanca) in quiapo, a place that doesn’t look much has the best and most delectable hopia* in manila. built in 1927, kim chong tin hopia factory has pugon-baked hopia in various creamy and tasty fillings such as mongo, ube, pandan, wintermelon and mongo with salted egg. located right beside excelente ham, it is open everyday from 8am-7pm (except on sunday, 8am-5pm).

*hopia, derived from the word ho-pian, which means ‘good biscuit’, is a pastry introduced by the chinese in the philippines during colonial period.
